looks like a cast reproduction to me. hopefully someone here can tell you more info on it
 

It's weight is roughly 27 grams. I would like more info if someone could help.

Unfortunately that's exactly right. (modern fake gold 8 Escudo) But if your son is young enough that's still some pretty good treasure!

Man, I would just have to wonder how that got there. May never know, but that would get me to researching local history and digging deeper and searching the area more...
 

Foe or not you and your son will remember 4 ever that day... If it's fake drill /solder a nice chain on it...

It's a nice find for your son, too bad it's a repo. In the early 70's Dodge came out with the "Gold Duster" automobile.
As a avertising gimic Everyone sold came with a bag of "Gold" coins, I found a Brasher Dabloon(spelling) in my front yard,
Thought that I was rich!!!!! Nope just a sand cast fantasy coin.....I'm afraid thats what you have there.............HH
