1796 seedsman conder token...

Went back to make sure the spot I was at yesterday was cleaned out. Got two more coins and a smal flat button. One coin was a blank disc but luckily I found one that turned out well. It’s a 1796 Joseph Archibald half penny conder token. He was a seedsman. I’ve dug other 1790’s conder tokens in the past but not this type and most are in bad shape. The pictures don’t do it justice. Good token. It’s a halfpenny, and from Edinburgh in Scotland. Joseph Archibald had a shop there on Chapel Street. That’s a version of his family coat of arms on the reverse.

Great looking token-you need some natural lighting to show off the detailing more.

Always a challenge, tilt, get the right lighting, try to take photo with other hand....love the verbal "shoot" command on the phone now. (message-pop up "you will get a clearer photo if lens is cleaned")
