1798 & 1822 large cents before da blizzard

With the forecasts being 18-24" of snow where I love, I figured I'd get out for a bit. I found a couple large cents, a bunch of buttons, and a nice early 19th century spoon.

Not soon after my hunt I was recalled to my ship to ride out the storm (big surge and high winds), so all I was able to clean were the coins.

Well enjoy the snow. We'll probably be sidelined around Northern NJ for the better part of a week.

Cheers

Congrats Scrappy!

You are a MACHINE.

I wish I was a snow machine and can remove 200 sq ft of permafrost! Lol. I should be cleared by your April visit. Lol

Nice coppas. Are you finding this stuff primarily in wooded homesites?

It's now wooded. I'm not sure about how it was when it existed...the site is not on any maps. The coins and the plate from this site were right where the home used to be, so I'm confident they were spared from the farm fields. I did find a KG2 and CT copper where the field was, and they looked like a cow chewed on them.

Keep the coppers coming Steve

I would, but the area still has 6" of heavy pack snow. May be another week before all is said and done. The good news is I've been doing some scouting;)
