:hello: Hispan! Every time i look at Your posts i think Youre the one and only down there with a detector.... Unbelivable how much stuff is in these fields....
We have some fields like this, but not in my area. :( There called privy fields :tongue3: ... These fields are near bigger towns with history down to 15th-16th century or older. When the privy pits in the towns were full, farmers were paid for bringing these sh!t on the fields near town, of course with everything what people can fall out the pockets or what else was dumped there....

Great finds like usual. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Westfront ! :hello:

Yes, this is one of the reasons why all these fields many relics and ceramics, but warn that trash dumping is not the only ... Here we number the most important reasons.
1, The Via Augusta passing near these fields , was a Roman Imperial period and sides of it made several Roman villas.(the Roman fields are not shown on the map but are close)

2 The nearby town was founded in the 14th century, and the area occupied by some of these camps was a market situated in the outskirts of the city from the 14th to 16th century.

3 Âş in the 17th century became a vast field of vines and as you say the throwing waste into close to roads.

4 Âş These fields were the scene of several battles from 1701 till 1714 ... These battles were part of the Spanish succession war for this reason .... and found many coins from that period along with hundreds of musket balls etc ....

In blue fields are marked with more findings Medieval (closer to the city, two currency weightings and a seal matrix, support the hypothesis of old market),
And red the last two days of hunting, the findings here are mostly musket balls, buckles and coins of 17th to 19th centuries. which also appear in other fields (in this area of medieval findings also appear but less and only about roads)
the hunting area is very large and in just seven visits, but I love walking in the countryside :walk:
the field with the blue dot is where the Seal Matrix ...

Its looking more likely your gold coins, its a wash out here :tongue3:

Always Great!!! You seem to find some of the coolest coins/relics to be posted. It seems that your fields are full of keepers. Keep it up!!! M.J.

I am always amazed. How do you figure a broken drawer pull got out into the middle of the field? And don't tell me aliens doing crop circles.

Like always amazing finds.
