Hello all,

I normally don't coin roll hunt, but when I went to the bank today to cash my check I thought, what the hell. I got my check cashed and asked the teller if they had any Half Dollars. She told me she had $10 worth, so I said I'd take them. I went back to the car where the lady was waiting and showed her the roll. She thought I was crazy for getting halves, but I told her that you can sometimes find the older silver ones. I opened one end of the roll and could tell that the first coin was silver! I said "that's a good sign". I dumped out the rest of the roll in my hand and could see silver, silver and more SILVER!! All in all there were 18 silver half dollars! They're only 40%, but it's still a little over $100 worth :headbang: . There were 4-1966, 8-1967, 3-1968, 3-1969, 1-1973, and 1-1974. I wish they had all been silver, but I'm not complaining with 18 out of 20!

HH

At the close of business that means $105.92 in silver.

Am I missing something here? Aren't those all post 1964? There wasn't any silver after 64 was there?

Nothing to see here, move along.

They stopped producing dimes and quarters in silver in 1964. The half dollars were taken down from 90% silver to 40% silver in 1965. They continued making them in 40% until 1970. At current prices there is about $6 worth of silver in each one.

Nice haul roll hunting, I just don't have any luck roll hunting. HH

Totally forgot about that. Just looked it up in the coin book again. Good to know.
