1800's One Cent Trifecta!

I'm fortunate to have permission to hunt an 1756 home site here in Virginia. I've found multiple 18th and 19th century buttons and buckles, but the only coin prior this last hunt was an 1806 Half Cent. I was again hunting the home site when I got a deep high tone signal that I just knew had to be some type of copper coin. I wasn't disappointed. When I pulled my plug, I immediately saw an 1854 large cent. Before covering the hole, I probed with my pin pointer and pulled out two Eagle Cents (1857 and 1858)! About a half hour later, I found an 1899 Indian Head that looks like it was hit by plow; completing my trifecta! What a great day!

Wow, two flying Eagles from the same hole, that's awesome. Congrats on a great hunt.

Congratz! Two FEs in one hole?!? You lucky dog! What a great day!

Actually, the LC and two Eagles all came from the same hole - my oldest coin spill! Just FYI...I just corrected my post. It is actually a 1756 home site, not 1856. I'm still hoping to find my first 1700's coin there!

Congrats on the extremely rare trifecta. :occasion14: I dream of digging an FE someday.

Wow. Just wow. Getting ONE flying eagle seems like a dream... Two? In one hole? SAVE SOME FOR THE REST OF US WHO HAVE NEVER FOUND ANY!

Awesome hunt. Congrats on a killer trifecta.

Congrats on that hunt! Wow... two FEs and a LC in one hole. And that "lawnmower" Indian is sweet.

You really have made me jealous!

Awesome! That is a great day of hunting

Love that ihp! I have a LC that was also hit by a plow found here in va. Those coins are just neat as can be.
