1803 Plantation site was "hot"!
Got out to the site of an 1803 Plantation that burned in 1840. The home was rebuilt across the road in 1842 and is privately owned now by some relatives of one of my employees.
Normal relics were showing up like harmonica reeds, farm implements, etc. Found a very nice iron with the handle missing. The finds of the day however were what appears to be a silver plated, brass rein guide (3rd one I have found out there), an ornate, concave button with floral design, a burned to almost unrecognizable condition 1838, 39 or 40 seated Dime, a small bit of a Reale and what I believe to be an early (1800) U S Diplomat button. The eagle was pretty clear when it came out of the ground but has faded quite a bit-It does have a backmark but is illegible-maybe someone can identify.
thanks.
