My brother in-law,(DIGGINITRTB), called this morning but I was busy so he went for about an hr. in a spot we know of about 1/2 mile from the Appalachian Trail. Pretty grown in where one of the cellar holes is ,but he managed to find this little beauty hidding in the underbrush. Cleaned up well sprayed with brake cleaner :icon_scratch: ???. Hell, I might even try it on an LC I don't want to sell! Came out pretty good actually! It really looks better than the scan shows, if ya can believe that. Good Luck and HH!

Great find.
Make sure to wash the break cleaner
off real good, it has a tendency to eat
copper if left on too long.

Lucky guy! It is always nice to find the old ones. Around here the mosquito's come to get you even at noon when the sun is high and the grass is short. You can't get near a bush! Thanks to the floods and the rain.

Nice coin, it actually looks great in the photos, how dirty or encrusted was it before the brake cleaner? Gonna have to try some brake cleaner one of these days.

Nice LC...Scary with the brake fluid treatment...Was it really nasty looking prior to the bath in the brake fluid? Either way..Great find! :) jgas
