1829 coin made into a button

Thought this was a cool find today, has anyone ever seen a coin that was used as a button, this is a first for me.

Anyone have any idea on how to properly clean the coin/ button. I just do not like the multiple color patina and would rather it be more uniform. I never do anything more than clean with soap and water. I know some people soak their finds in olive oil. Also added a couple more better photographs

Try baking soda , foil and boiling water method! No oil on silver
