Went to a old homesite I found on an old plat book from mid 1800s and found site because detector was going crazy with all the iron grunts. It's a plowed field now but full of iron and brass. Dug some iron and brass to see what was there and couldn't tell by what I was finding. It was very muddy so was going to come back when it dries a bit then got a iron hit on way out with a high broken tone. I decided to dig and out came square nails so wasn't surprised so I swung over hole again and high tone. Put pin pointer in and out comes a coin. I knew rite away it was a half cent due to its size and thickness so waited till I got home to run under water. It's soaking in olive oil now but it's a 1832 us half cent and that makes my 3rd half cent ever so very excited. The at gold VDI was 76 to 79 but very consistent. Thanks for looking.
