When I first started metal detecting 5 years ago I had two things on my wish list. The first being a silver 3 cent peice, which I found last spring. Now I have the other a 1835 half dime. Always wanted to find a half dime. found it in a feild near where a old mill use to be. It is in excellent shape. I love this hobby. Thanks for looking.

I have several half dimes and none look that good. WTG

I'll bet that baby was lost in 1835 or 1836. It doesn't look like it was in circulation too long before it was lost. Beautiful!

Great find!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Great too find these old coins but I always wonder about the people that lost them. This was probably a weeks pay in 1835. But as small as it is I can see how you would lose it. Hey bookfisher, nothing wrong with that beauty I'll take em anyway I can get em. Good luck too everyone on treasurenet.

Would anyone want to venture a guess as to what they think this would grade. I was thinking atleast EF. But I am no expert by any means. Also was just wondering if this coin has gone up in value my red book is from 2004. Mine says 125.00 for ef just wondering if that may have changed. Thank you again to everyone.
