1840 half dime and other goodies

After spending much of 2018 on the sideline I’ve been able to make some time to go detecting recently. I upgraded from my tracker iv to an equinox 600 a few months ago, and I have been getting a feel for it at a few local parks the past 2 outings. Well, today I finally brought it out into the wild to scout an area I had been researching that dates back to the early 1800s. Thankfully my research paid off, as I ended up with many old square nails and other old iron scrap. I’ll have to sift through this area with the 6” coil soon. Anyway, the keepers from today include:
- Holed 1840 half dime
-Monogrammed silver plated cap
-Lever from a lever action firearm
-Small, flattened silver (silver plated?)thimble
-Holed Shell’s Famous Facts and Faces token (Star Spangled Banner)

Neat old gun part. I looked at one of my books with exploded views of rifles. No luck. I can tell you what it's not. It's not a Winchester model, I'm fairly certain of that. Gary
