Hi Folks,

The ground has thawed and temps. finally are getting warmer. Spent the winter researching an old Methodist Camp meeting grounds I read about in an autobiography. It sits somewhere on the 160 acres I am detecting, 160 acres doesn't sound like much until you start walking it and not knowing for sure where exactly they were held on it. It's not easy either when it's corn stubbles. Talked to the farmer who owns it and he said it would be in beans this spring. Told him I would wait and come back this fall. Anyway's spent 3 hrs. here and covered maybe an acre of it. Found my first ever in 43 yrs. Seated Liberty Quarter 1840 "O", have found plenty of seated dimes and other 1800's coins in the past but no seated quarter's. Red book says it has a mintage of 43,000. This one has the drapery at the elbow. Also found the 1868 Indian Head. Hope the picture of the quarter post alright because it looks like it was dropped the year it was minted. Found with a CZ-3D. Thanks for looking and good hunting.

Hi Mike great finds there, that Seated Quarter is a really hard to find item in Illinois, still looking for my first one here. Just have one Seated Dime so far here.
