1846 Large Cent..

I went out for a few hours this afternoon.. found this Large Cent and a big iron lock.... not too bad..

Nice large cent. There were three different date sizes on the 1846 L C. (small, medium, and tall). I'm no expert but I think yours might be the medium date. I found a tall date variety last year. Keep up the good work.

hmm.. must be the fields?? They are the worst! This came out of the backyard of an old house around here.. good soil. I thought it would actually be a little better when I first dug it.. but still pretty nice.. keep digging...

It does look like the medium date.. I'll double check that in Breen's book.. thanks!!
