I took a kayak out to a new 1840s home site only accessible by water. It was only about 300 yards upstream from a boat launch but the current turned out to be stronger than I thought haha! After about 10 minutes of rigourous paddling I made it to a good spot to land. I was still about 50 yards south of the spot I had marked but I decided to start swinging anyway and about 20 feet in I got a 20 signal on the Manticore. I was expecting to find a shotgun cap but a piece of brass fancy popped out of the hole. That made me feel good about what might be ahead. I continued on and ran into an iron patch and it wasn't long before I started finding relic after relic. Pewter spoons, a toe tap, a pocket knife, a couple 2 piece buttons, a couple pistol balls, a Henry .44 casing, a couple mystery items, and an 1860 fatty indianhead cent.

Nice post Beige
Congratulations on your success!!!!

That sounds like a great place to hunt, and came through for you. I did quite a lot of hunting along a river using a boat. Fun getting there and back and no interference when there!

Well done !
