went back to the field where I got my large cent monday and this is the toughest field I have ever hunted. Unreal amounts of iron, you just have to creep so slow thru it to get a non ferrous signal and they are few and far between. 1.5 hour hunt tonight I found a harmonic reed piece, 2 more shotgun shells, couple pieces of lead, 1861 fatty injun, the wheat which is beside the large flat button to show the size. It is HUGE.....front is really corroded and I do not see any markings at all on front or back, any clue to the age or anything about it?

that is my 86th indian this season and it is my 3rd fatty this yr :hello2:

That's a real nice penny. Looks like it was dropped nearly new; sad to see the corrosion though. Button looks to be early, like mid 19800's perhaps?

very nice fatty! sweet tombac button.tombacs don't usually have backmarks, some have machined designs on the front while most are plain on front.awesome stuff!

I placed the button on top of a half dollar and it is almost exact size

Gorgeous condition on the penny! :icon_thumright:
Button looks mighty old too! :o

Wow, that's a very nice fatty.... Congratulations on the great recovery!!!
