1864 IHP, buttons, buckle & a Merman???

Hit the old spots in the woods at my park again. Only one coin this weekend, my 10th IHP this year, I'll take it. A round button and a flat button with no back marks, then next to this a piece of brass that I put in my trash pouch. When I was going through the trash stuff in better light, this piece warranted a bit of a clean up. I think this is my first Merman of the year. Anyone have an idea what this sea creature item is?
The buckle/latch piece was real deep. this may just be a handle from a drawer.

Wonderful is the word! Nice collection of cool old stuff. Is the Indian a Fatty? I guess some fatties and others types were made that year they transitioned over? The merman thing is actually kinda' "creepy". LOL! Darn cool but, creepy. Great stuff you keep getting. well done.

The drawer pull (Not buckle), is a pretty common type, had loads, I think its 19th C.

Thx Kurios1! Unfortunately the 1864 IHP is a bit crusty, I guess this is a desirable year. It looks like the rest of the lot, not a fatty or the nickel type. And if it had an "L" it is long gone, so not worth $5k ... The head on the merman looks a bit like a roman character, the brass is really thin, i think the circular bit by the tail and the eye once held stones. Another mystery item.

Thx Pepperj! The rounded brass plate is fairly thin, easy to bend. I'm thinking a side plate would be more rigid? But there are several serpent motif musket side plate patterns on the web.
