I know it is dug but as for the details, what would you grade it?

Wow, beautiful coin for being dug

I'd place it between vf-xf
The reverse looks outstanding. Did you find it?

yes was dug yesterday. post and video in todays finds

I don't think it is XF. Although I think my coin shop may undergrade coins slightly. For example they sold me a 190x indian head for $8 they thought was XF I thought it was XF+ or AU50 so maybe I am used to seeing under graded coins? Nice find none the less though!

Great find! Nice semi-key date. I'd grade it VF30-35 obv, XF40 rev - gets VF35. Sweet, man!

It's kind of a contradiction upon itself. The cheek looks good, but the hair over the ear and down is worn, the feathers are a tad worn. The reverse looks really good.

I think the grading would be very subjective depending on whether you were buying or selling (don't ya just love coin dealers!)

I'd say VF-30, with XF40 reverse, unless you were selling.....

The true question of value would be in the composition. Yours' appears to be a bronze, and also appears to be an "L" based on the picture - which is the most desirable and valuable.

Take a trip here for example....

Really nice example. Grading is subjective. I think VF-35 is good. If you were to list it on EBAY,(being a dug coin), I think $100(+ or-) is a realistic price it would fetch. Congrats...............Hogge
