I swung for four hours this morning and the relic hunter in me was satisfied after digging a nearly intact candle wick trimmer, but just a few swings from calling it a day I got a nice signal and out of this parched Ohio soil came a beauty, 68 Indian Head!!!
Now the coinshooter in me was breathing a sigh of relief...(it's hard maintaining multiple personalities)
This comes from the same cellarhole site where I recently dug an 1865 Two Cent Piece and an 1865 Indian Head, both in good condition.
This 68 Indian Head is the nicest condition Indian Head of the year for me and according to Redbook,by far the most valuable. It was only an inch deep and cleaned up with just water and a soft bristle toothbrush.
The relic hunter in me was ecstatic with the candle wick trimmer and the early 1800's 10 gauge Eley Bros. pin fire shotshell but this Indian Head put the icing on the cake.
Thanks for havin a look and Happy Hunting!!! Jerry
