1869 2 Cent Piece...

Well after about 4 mounts i finally got out again man i missed all summer :'(

Hit a sidewalk tear out for about 1 and a half hours...
Found a very nice 2 cent piece my first

and a 1884 Indian head one button and what seams to be an old boyscout pin or badge...Some info on the button would be appreciated...Hope everyone summer has been a well picked sore arm,legs and more to your collection kind of summer.The 2 cent piece has great detail and should clean very well.Thanks for looking and HH.

Congrats on some nice finds!! Found a two cent piece in 2001 and then nothing until last year when I found four, go figure!! Nice finds!

Nice finds, Northeast Hunter!!! I'm still looking for my first 2-center.

As for your button, I found one similar to yours. I was told it was a Union naval coat button from the civil war, circa 1850-1865. My button's backmarks are different than yours, however. Mine says "Scovill Mfg. Co. Waterbury". Here's a pic for comparison. I found mine at Golden Gate Park, SF back in May.

Yours looks to be a Horstmann button. I've included a list of the button backmarks for this companies buttons along with estimated creation dates. good luck..
