This farm was on the 1875 plat book but was gone from the 1895 plat. Nothing there now but a bean field. Got permission and headed out. Lots of big iron where I think the barn was. Broken pieces of copper tubing where I think the house was. My wife found a nice big wedge for splitting wood on the surface. My only interesting find was a button of some sort, more like a rivet with a pin on the back. Brass, maybe for leather on horse tack? Thought I had an arrowhead but it was a fooler piece of milk glass. Also found a crock rim with a "6" for 6 gal. I assume. Never seen a crock with a number punched in like this. Gary

Nice!! Congrats!!

I like the pottery bit with the number...I wonder why the place disappeared after 20 years?

Very nice field hunt, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

I think you found a overall suspender button. The piece the suspender clip hooks to.

I figured the place was built in the 1840's and was a log cabin that reached the end of its days by 1895. You never know though. My wife said it could have been built in 1874 and burned to the ground in 1876. Maybe so! Sure not much found so far. Gary

There’s gotta be something really cool there, get back at it. Nice job
