Well, Frank James was a REBEL Doctor in his REBEL unit in Tenn.; Jesse was too young to fight in the "regular" army... so he joined "Q", fighting yanks (and allies) in the FREE STATES of Kansas, Missouri, etc. Caves were good "hiding places" for 'em. FJ & family were living here in Lynchburg, Va. in 1882, when JJ was "killed"... NOT! James Warren was FJ's name at that time... heh.
