1883 H Canadian Quarter/ 1953 Rosie/ 51' wheat

Hello SE Michigan here.

Found my oldest coin thus far, an 1883 H Canadian Quarter, I believe it is made of
.925 silver, and of course that's queen victoria, but I don't know what the
H stands for, Halifax? Also snagged me a 1953 rosie, in my second hole dug,
always nice to start a hunt w/ some silver right off the bat. Was an overcast
day, wee bit of drizzle, but a nice day for it.

I agree planetmars. I'd rather have a USA of this date, but a canadian with .925
silver is rather cool too. The H as I have recently learned is for Heaton, English mint.

Good luck,
HH.

Any coin that breaks that 1800's barrier are great and then to be silver is even better! I'll bet there are many T-netters that have never even seen a silver coin that old and one from Canada Taboot! Way to go Band!

Sweet Silver Band!
Nice Hunt!

Jack is right, haven't seen any Canadian silver up here either!

I would gladly trade the Canadian in the Governors Mansions for one! Heck, I'd trade for a Wheatie! Memorial even!

Have a great day.

LOL,
Looks like I get my wish! Seems Jenny may be the new Secretary of Energy. I know having her on the Economic Transition Team made me feel hopeful. If she can do for the entire country what she has done for Michigan.............

Good Luck,
Mark
