Keep watching the auction, I think we will both be surprised :icon_sunny:

FEEBAY huh?? I like that, it sure is becoming that way for sellers.

Fabulous find.

King David Kalakaua was the last king of Hawaii. His coronation was held in Iolani Palace in 1883. He built the palace 1882 and died in 1891. Queen Lili'uokalani, the last reigning monarch, lived there when the Hawaiian Monarchy was overthrown in 1893. King Kalakaua was also known as the Merrie Monarch.

The words on the back is the Hawaiian motto and mean: The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.

Dont wanna rain on a parade but as a keen buyer on ebay ive noticed theres very little going on bidding wise , coins are going at 50% of redbook value regularly.Best of luck..ya never know

I second that!!!

Great find. Might be worth keeping, unless it's worth big bucks.

I'd keep it. Its a nice piece of history.

Gorgeous Coin. I never knew the history of Hawai thanks for educating us.

I think that's pretty awesome. I don't remember seeing something like that posted. And it's in sweet shape too. Congrats!

You might have done better on Stacks or Heritage coin auction then EBay more people with a coin interest would have seen it... personal opinion I don't like the fact eBay forces you to use there Paypal to purchase items now...

Cool find, I'd keep it tooo. Good luck.

That's an incredible find doublet2a, fantastic . Congratulations and good luck.

I think I tend to agree with most. If I was you, I'd keep it. Unfortunately, it looks like it has a pretty bad scrape on the back of the coin in the upper left portion of the crest. The lower left section has a pretty bad scratch, too.

Still a great find. Just add it to your collection and be proud of that piece of Hawaiian history.
