1888 Indian Head Penny 8/7? Thanks

It looks like the 7 is protruding from the bottom of the 8 and I think I see the faint cud mark along the edge by United but to worn for my eyes. . I’m probably just seeing what I want, but does anybody else have some input for signs I should look for? Thanks

Is very hard to tell on a dug coin whether or not it has this error. I can't tell you how many times I have stared at the ones I have found. The seven is very subtle most of the time. I would not give up it still could be.
