Found this today, old pocket watch.

That's a neat find. Ansonia Clock. Co. That would of been an affordable pocket watch of its day, sold at many of the local drug stores across the country a hundred plus years ago. I found this image of one online that still has the original box. I'll bet not a lot of those had survived today.

Very cool! What a lot of people don't realize is when Ansonia closed in 1929 the Soviet Union actually bought their remaining assets and shipped it all to Moscow along with former Ansonia workers to jump start the Soviet watch industry. The Soviets also bought the assets of another clock company as well who's name eludes me. This would be beginnings of 1st Moscow Watch Factory.

I have a New Haven watch which according to the case paper was sold by The George Worthington Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. Information found on the rear of the case paper names the original owner, when born and when died and states the watch was a gift from Uncle Otto 2 years before death. This...

It has the same award win 1878 as your watch info.
The company produced over 220 different designs of clocks alone.
I believe it was bought used.
Not much information on the Grandparents.
