✅ SOLVED 1890's old town site interesting find. Some kind of "shifting" device?

Found rather deep down (10-14 inches) at an 1890's Central Florida old town site. No ideas on these lol. Almost looks like some kind of thing that "shifts", but then the bottom has like some kind of round attachment. Heck if I know....

My picture is a Ford N series. I think most makes had transmission and transfer case shif levers for various uses.

Pretty heavy duty for a shifter.

Looks more like the end of a broken leaf spring...
