A number of years, ago, I acquired five of these 1898, Iowa National Guard, Spanish American War, discharge papers. I'm not sure where to inquire about their value. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or what the value would be???

Edward J. Smock was a Corporal in Company G of the 49th Iowa Volunteers Infantry.
(Scroll down here to view the history of the 49th and to see his name in the Company G roster)

You have a small goldmine of historic documents. Imagine the joy you might provide in returning these documents to these soldiers' next of kin. IMO, forget the value of the documents to yourself; they'd be 'priceless' to the next of kin.
Don.....
