Dear all,

I found in a cave this buttplate, along with late 18th-early 19th century remains:

It took me some time to identify, but I think it could be a brown bess buttplate
Brown Bess buttplate by Gearges C Neumann.

However, there are three indentations on all Brown Bess buttplates, mine has 2.

I searched deeply in the forum, and I found what it might be:
Kirk took a picture of a book and it could be item n°2 in this book: "Archaeological Investigation of Fort Ligonier 1960-1965" by Jacob L. Grimm.

Anyone can tell me what is #2 ?
Any other idea of the exact model of this buttplate ?

many thanks
Olivier
