Got this in a box lot at an auction over the weekend. Just trying to figure out the maker and some information about it. I've searched all the text on the box on Google and have had no results in identifying it. If someone knows or knows a site that would have this information I'd greatly appreciate it. I uploaded 6 pictures of it. If you have any questions or need better pictures let me know. Thanks

Are you sure about the date of 1901?

I think this is a political advertisement cigar box for Joseph “Joe” Flory who ran for Governor of Missouri in 1900 …. He lost. He was also a Colonel.

No I'm not sure about the date. Its the date on the tax stamp around the box. I was able to find they used 1901 for a couple years prior to 1901.

Best Guess: The box was sold by the Meyer Bros. Drug Company, Located at 4th and Clark Ave. St. Louis, Missouri (Three Brothers; C.F.G, Theodore & Henry Meyer) which used to be the Richardson Drug Company (I think these were early pharmacy’s). The cigars were manufactured by B. Garcia & Co. (I think they were out of New York, but probably had a cigar manufacturing plant in Missouri) The Picture of Joe Flory was to promote his political bid for Governorship of the State of Missouri.

Hope this helps or gives you some direction for further research.

Were you able to look that up by the factory number? I was suspecting it was in St. Louis since the majority of Missouri's cigar factories were. I would guess it dates 1899-1900. I read that they used 1901 on tax stamps starting in 1898. I'm not sure how long they advertised for political stuff back then. Anyway thanks a bunch, you really helped.
