Hello!
WOW ~ the weather today was nice & hot! I wasn't planning on going detecting ~ I stayed home and watched the Mariners play the Red Soxs (Mariners won 3-2!). I've been off of work all week and I have to go back on Monday ~ BOO . . . .BOOOOOO!!!!
This evening my wife suggested that we go downtown to a park so I can detect and she can lay out in the sun. My buddy Ron is letting me use his Explorer SE. I've been using it with the 8'' coil, just trying to get use to all it's noises & such. But today I was brave and put on the PRO coil . . . . HOLY CRAP ~ this thing sounds so much different than the White's XLT that I've been using for the last 10 years! It taking me a little while to get use to, but I'm getting it, slowy but surely.
We ended up downtown in a big lawn area near the University of Oregon campus ~ a place that we've pounded heavily for a few years now. I was hoping that I could dig some deep targets with the PRO coil ~ sure enough I dug a 1903 Barber dime at 5 or 6 inches deep! Not super deep, but deep enough! I also dug some clad, but nothing else too exciting.
This Barber dime is my silver coin find #34 for the year!
Thanks for looking!
