thanks, I went to an old store down the road and got a Dr Pepper and got change for it and I look in the penny cup and here you go
I pull out an 1911 penny and I told the man I collect coins and he showed me a 1909 - 1940 penny book, and I said do you want to sell it he said sure so I gave him 2 bucks for it and when I got home I go to put the 1911 penny in the blue penny book, I said to my wife look what I got, she said wow only you can do that find a penny a 1911 and then buy an old penny book and got to put the new Penny in it, that made my day.

Definately not an S it would be under the Date.

But Check Bottom Back for V.D.B.

Nice! One of my very first finds was a 1909 S in very good shape. Heck, I didn't even know what I had found until later. Wish my finds would have continued at that level Oh well.

Nice coin find. I went looking through some pennies I had laying around the house a couple of days ago, and I found a 1919 penny. I also don't know a whole lot about the markings, but I'll be checking all my coins tonight.

Actually, I am going to look at it tonight, over the weekend I work on my mercury comets and did some Mding and only found a penny, but it was for to find, I have been doing it at my place.

PS I got a couple of books now on coins, and now my little girl told mom, you can spend these quarters, cause these looks nice she told mom, and mom said how are we going to was the cars with these left over my girl said, funny. then my wife told me, seen what you have done to are little girl you are make her a coin nut too. LOL

Sorry, but there is no "S" on this coin........possibly a VDB, but no S.

lol. It really is an S, you have to look at it right. hunch down and look upwards, it is a really faint S. But you really can see it. :P

I actually wasn't messing with him, I do see an S, but I know its not the mint mark. If you look at the picture, there is a fairly concentric S at the end of my arrow.

JUST TO CLARIFY:

Sir,

Your coin DOES NOT have the S mintmark, I am nearly analyzing coin_savers observation. I apologize if I confused you.
