Hey guys! I'm a long time member and regular reader here but I don't post too often, unfortunately. Usually only when something exceptional pops out.

Being predominantly a coinshooter, this one's pretty exceptional :) 1909 S VDB that came out alongside a nice handful of oldies on a great hunt in an out-of-the-way patch of turf.

Here on the west coast we don't get a lot of the good stuff you guys get back east - colonial coppers, large cents, busts, and loads of reales. But at least we get a lot of S mints (and a few more gold coins for the lucky hunters out here).

My second 1909 S VDB ever; a little beat up, but beautiful to me. Thanks for looking!

Jayson

Dang, sure enough! Nice find man

Forget about it being a little hammered. FANTASTIC coin!!

Great treasure find there. You did very well. Congrats...

Hi; Sweet find there. God Luck. HH. PEACE:RONB

Nice one, congrats!

Fantastic hunt, congratulations! The 1909 has a lot of detail and silvers seemed to find your coil! :occasion14:

I voted Banner on this. Great detail. Wonder if the environmental damage could be removed without spoiling the coin - I'm sure you've been thinking about that ....

If I was a charter member, I'd be offering to buy that off you...provided you were a charter member as well...
Congrats on finding my dream coin.

Wow! You have found two of those coins? I am envious! I think I would stroke out if I pulled that from a hole.

1909 S VDB is a hard coin to find and worthy of a Banner Vote. By the way, , congrats on the silver dime Trifecter.

WoW!
That would make my day, a Wheat, Barber, V-nick, or...any SILVER!
Good Job!
Great relics, even a Chinese coin!
WOW!

Now!...that's the way its DONE! CONGRATULATIONS!

Beat up its still cool.

Beat up......?? Really?? Looks like super model to me!!! A real stunner!! :notworthy:
The mint mark stands out beautifully........I second Deepseeker ADS' suggestion.........restoration!!

Congrats on a nice bunch of finds.

Jayson, thanx for sharing with the rest of us ! I agree banner, since this ranks up there alongside the 1916 D merc, and so-forth, as a hard-to-find key-date. Even despite the ground-kiss :)

Thanx for letting me hunt with you on that site that day ! My finds from there inc'd a bunch of wheaties (all common, durnit!), a few mercs, and an 1894 Hong Kong silver coin. Looks like you got the prize coin though!
