I received permission to detect a homesite built in 1910 after helping find the wedding ring that the young man's wife lost in the yard this spring. So far I have found a 1901 V Nickel and just 5 wheats (1928, 2 - 1937s, 1944 and a 1946) and a ton of clad along with countless pennies including our favorite Zincons.

So far, the silver coins have been elusive. Yesterday, I had a 12-46 (quarter reading) at 8" and thought, "Finally"! Turned out to be three clad quarters!

Tons of spent bullet casings and of course iron everywhere. I just need to slow down and grid an area. The owners have been great and welcome me back so hopefully, next time I'll report back with some silver. I understand the previous owners had a vegetable stand years ago so I'm trying to find that area.

Its a shame that wheat has a hole in it. Still nice haul

the slow down and grid really makes a difference, especially if you believe you have good possibilities. you did pull out a V-nickle so there is definitely hope for silver. good luck on finding the silver, I would be digging signals there that might be sound questionable, heck I dig them all nearly.

Nice coin shooting! Don't worry the silver is there, just have to get the coil over it! :icon_thumright:

Definitely slow down and grid. I hope you get some silver.
