My wife and I are on a road trip through Colorado and Nebraska (we live in Wyoming) looking for some new places to detect. We did pretty good today with $13 in clad and a 44 cent. I found a sterling pendant and we were pretty happy with our finds. Then she gets a nickel tone and this shows up in the last park we were doing today!

The reverse is very crusted so I can't see the mint mark. Sure hope it's an S. Guess we'll find out when we get home and try to clean it up a bit..carefully!

Did it ring up as an ordinary nickel, say 17 or 18 on a DFX, and how deep was it ? Thanks and nice find !
