1916 wheat penny with errors

I am new on here so hello everyone. I got a ton and a half of old coins when my dad passed away and I found one in particular.I can tell it is a 1916 wheat penny but I have not seen errors like this before. Does anyone know or have seen this before?

Welcome to the party. I am no where near an expert on coins but this one looks like it was hit with something. I can tell you there is experts here so hopefully they will chime in soon. Good Luck and thanks for sharing.

Not sure if those are die errors of something after it was minted.. I would say possibly the latter.
