Some good bills and some completely destroyed. Found in a buried glass jar that apparently was not water tight. Not sure what these rods were for... a bit odd shaped to be divining rods.

I am not a paper guy but I have read during wwII the mint printed special notes for our troops in north Africa. they put an orange or yellow seal on them. to keep them different. Yes they are still U.S. currency. But North Africa notes are HIGHLY collectible. You may want to post on the paper currency section and get some better feed back form them, before you do anything with them.

I recommend you post on the paper currency section to get more expert info before you do anything. Knowledge is money. would have been war dates though.

just curious but how deep was it? wondering how deep people typically buried these sorts of things.

Exciting find for sure ! Take your time , get informed on what you have there - it's possible that some of these notes are worth many times
their face value . If only worth face value , you still have found a nice cache !!!

Awesome! Finding paper in the ground is always a treat! Any stars in there?

most excellent find in any condition

How about a story with this find! It's a banner find, but not without a story and you said very little about the find and how you found it.

Actually he is too new for it to Make Banner.

Awesome find though,
& I understand if he doesn't want to say too much.
I know I'd be a bit cautious,
even though it probably was buried during the Great depression,
or Prohibition.

& I am curious also :laughing7:

My guess is the yellow $10 is a gold certificate and not WWII N. African. I had the opportunity to take a brown seal $100 from a freind that an old lady came into their store and paid with. I bought it for $100 and used it as $100 at a coin show since it had no intrensic value what so ever. It was mint but folded in half once.

Very cool find indeed.

I thought Gold Certificate also, But I think the Big Blue 10 on the left rules that out

Awesome cache Mike ! & Welcome to treasureNet.

the Red has me wondering, Robbery Money Die Pack, but
the age difference in bills says Personal (Collection) Stash.
if I had found it , I'd probably cash the Green Stuff,
But also be weary because of serial #'s

if your a Real "Officer" perhaps you can do some
investigation first, & see if it's smart to cash them in.

in all Honesty, it would make a Great Display Case coffee table, or wall display :laughing7:

as for the Rods, unless destroyd,
in order to hide there original use,'
not "divining" in my opinion.
but possibly a hint to the reason or owner of the stash,
if you can figure them out, as to what they were part of,
or used for.

Or were they a separate find not connected to the Ca$h cache ?

Dye packs was invented in (Georgia in 1965) I think this cache predates the Dye Pack. Could the red be, ink that bled from another source ? I also think the metal rods possibly held the Jar Lid on ? ??? :dontknow:
I don't know, cool cache !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:
