Whatdayagot , congrats on that fine looking Shield nickel! None of those I’ve found have ever came out of the ground near that nice... I usually have to pick at them to see if it’s a Shield or a V nickel. Great save, Ddf.

Awesome! I hope to find a shield nickel someday. Such a neat looking coin!

Thanks I was surprised at its condition also

Yes, that Shield Nickel is in real nice condition - congrats ! :occasion14:

Thank you!

Those are hard to find in that condition.

Nice one! Still waiting for my first.

I think I got lucky it was in really dry dirt maybe a dry spot in the lawn

Sweet find good place to rip some History from keep them coins rollin

Wow!! That’s in great shape!! The first 2 I found were just barely Legible, I think I got a date off of one. I got two this spring very deep during a torrential rain storm that had great detail. I guess because they were on a hill top and got good drainage. Great save for sure!!!!!

Congrats on the shield nickel. Looks like it's in pretty good shape too. I have yet to find one of those.

Congratulations on a great find! Thanks for sharing with us.

Nice shield nickle! I have only found one in 50 years of detecting...

Congrats, that’s a tough coin! I’ve found 3 shield nickels. The first was completely smooth. The second was completely toast. The third was completely crusty. I’m trying to clean it but the verdict is still out on how it will turn out.
