1930's Packard Coupe Found Buriend Underground

So yesterday I found a mysterious depression in the dirt and as I stepped over it a hole formed. The hole opened up into an underground chamber that turned out to be the passanger seat of an an early 20th century automobile. Inside the automobile was a timecapsule of 1930's art deco designs and artifacts. I excavated the vehicle a little but didn't have time to dig anything besides the interior cab, will return today to dig more. Last night my reserch revealed this vehicle is likely a 1936-1941 Packard Buisness Coupe, a luxury car that would have belonged to someone with some cash to spare.

no one buries a car for a good reason.that has to be the biggest find on the site,i think it would be hard for me to look it the trunk.

I've seen several cases where a car was abandoned in a ditch, then over the years got buried by repeated plowing and earth moving on a property.
 

I checked the interior for a skeleton but couldn't find one, my main objective now is to uncover the front end of the car to see if it's valuable hood ornament is still attached then I will dig the trunk last just in case there is something bad inside and I have to call the PD at least I'll have saved the hood ornament. Maybe the car is full of some mobster gold or sacks of cash from a bank heist. 😁

In New York, I wouldn't Completely Rule out Nazi Treasure Either.

Tires and Fuel Tanks were Used for Stashing things back then too :icon_thumleft:
I've heard of people using their Fuel Tanks for Coin Piggy Banks,
Till They clogged things up :laughing7:

At the Very Least the car and the Photos of the Uncovering
are A treasure in Themselves !

Now that's what I call an great unusual and interesting find! It must be unique to find such a big part of a valuable and uncommon vehicle in the woods! Banner for sure and I can't wait for the follow-ups!
 

The conjecture is fun, but the reality could be more prosaic - such as using an old unwanted car to partially fill in a low spot. If you can find the plates or registration, then it might be possible to track the last registered owner. Good idea to remove the hood ornament. Even in poor condition, someone could have it re-chromed.

Do you have access to a backhoe or are you digging by hand?
 

My opinion, if it as a Junker used for Fill, I would Expect it to be Completely Empty of Valuables
& probably the Hub Caps & Chrome Gone too.
Maybe even missing the Engine Block

Well now, that is one of the more unusual finds!
I hope there are lots of great surprises in it. Like a bag of silver & gold coins!

Was going to say, be sure to check the trunk, they were massive! You could sneak 5 teenagers in the drive-in comfortably! The gap between the floor of the trunk & fenders were big too!

Have you checked around the immediate area? Not too far fetched to think there could be others buried close by.
 

is this in a place that you can tow it out? would you take it home? i think i would. if you pull it out you could detect around it.

I just remembered when I was around 5 my grandpa buried a car in the side of a creek bank to keep erosion away. As I was growing up the creek caught up to it and we would climb in the side windows, the car was sideways, and play. of course we got in trouble because of the danger. I would love to dig it out now and see what kind it was. My curiosity is at an all time high...….
 

Any updates on whats in the Packard ?
