I met Ron downtown yesterday & today to do some detecting. The rain mostly stayed away ~ but we got a little wet. Here's what I dug over the last two days:

1943-S Walking Liberty Half dollar

1945-S War nickel

Washington State Sales Tax Token

12 Wheats ~ '29-S, two 42-S, 45-S, 46-S, two 47-S, 48-S, 52-S, 54-S, 57-D, and one too corroded to see the date.

17 clad quarters

29 clad dimes

14 nickels

114 memorial cents

1963 & 1964 Canadian one cents

Small Silver ring

4 keys and lot's of junk!

Not so much load ~ just a nice sounding target ~ I've got a Whites XLT ~ the VDI number bounced from +90 to +91 ~ it was about 6 inches deep ~ I was hoping for a Barber quarter! But I'll take the Walker, no problem!

Nice going Neil..boy that Walker really shines!

You are dong well in your hunts lately.
Still learning my XLT. How long have you been using yours.

I should have taken before & after photo's of the Half. It wasn't so shiny when I dug it. I did the baking soda & water finger scrub. I wouldn't do it to any key date silver coins ~ but it's fine on common date silver.

nice finds i found a 43 s half in a bank roll couple weeks ago

I bought my XLT used in 1999. I bought a DFX as soon as they came out ~ I think something may have been wronmg with the DFX I bought because it didn't seem to work nearly as well as my XLT so I sold it and kept the XLT. My XLT keeps finding the treasures for me so I'm gonna stick with it!

My XLT leaves little doubt when a Walker passes beneath the coil! Nice finds!

OC,
You are on FIRE with that detector lately!!! Congrats on some great coins.

Yeah, I'm working tomorrow ~but Tuesday I'm OFF! And the weather is suppose to clear up ~ I'll be out there swinging the old XLT!!!

Walkers sure are beautiful coins. Those WA tax tokens turn up in the strangest places............I found on last month in Fontana CA where an old hog farm used to be. I wunder if it went through a hog??????

Yeah, this was my last silver coin dug in 2007! I was downtown detecting with my buddy Ron and we both found several wheat cents in a strip of grass ~ Ron moved on to the next section and I stayed there because of all the targets. Mostly junk, but I dug like ten wheats ~ I figured there had to be a silver dime in there. I took a few sweeps under a bush and got a nice big signal ~ I dug down about six inches and there was the 1943-S Walking Liberty Half dollar! WOOHOO!! I didn't find a silver dime in there, but I did get a few more wheats and a 1945-S War nickel.
