1958 at the local Champion (CONSOL) company store Coke .03, Joe Palooka double bubble gum 2 for a penny ,and a Moon Pie for a penny .Noodle said:When I was a child, probably in 1956-58, when I was 9-11 years old, my grandparents had a country mercantile store. One day new "stuff" arrived, and my granddad told me it was "my job" to change the big round red circle on the top of the Coca-Cola box from 5 cents to 6 cents. It was already imprinted. It was a circle about 5 inches across, and I had to cover the old one with the new one. I made sure that new circle of price covered the old one, but I also knew the price had gone up, something that didn't happen often.
