Found at a beach on Okinawa- nothing on back. Can make out 1964 and appears to have a discus thrower on front? Couldn’t quite match it to anything on a google search. Any guesses?

looks like a token commemorating the 1964 Olympics held in Tokyo japan. Cool find!

Good ole Okinawa, surprised I didn't blow myself up when I was kid there 77-80. Gawd only knows I came close to it over a dozen times.

LoL i know the feeling! I detected the bomb dump on Kadina most of the time. found lots of UXO's. Hit white beach, Kadina marina and Tori Station beach on a regular basis to get my coin and jewelry fix

After a Typhoon shredded a banana bush in our backyard on Kadena, my dad told me to haul it to the boonies. Well laying in the hole where the bush once stood was a US WWII grenade. EOD came out and it was determined to be to unstable to move, so they destroyed it on site. Wow what a rush to a military history nut kid like myself.

My dad bruised my backside on Diamond or Moon Beach for hauling a naval projectile up on the beach, that I found while snorkeling. Again EOD was called to deal with it.

Probably a dozen more stories like this.........

Amazing I still have all my fingers and limbs too.
