Anyone know of errors concerning mint mark locations for nickels? I found a couple 1975's with a D right to the left of the 5 in 1975 and a second example had the D well below the 5. Also some placement differences in 1971. Thoughts?

These are common errors and have no extra value.

Way to burst my bubble bro

They are not actually errors too, mintmarks used to be hand punched into dies, and no one was that precise. If it is far off, you could get something for it on eBay, and yours may fit that.

Red book says that the mark location varies from die to die.

...you asked about mintmark location errors, you got an answer. no need to be bitter about it. It's not an error and is only worth 5 cents.

I was only kidding.

I didn't know dies were hand punched with the mm. Good info.

I had a couple where the mm was larger then others. Then read about how its done and back in the heap they went.
