This one is out of the same roll as my last post.
Weird rotation thingy on the obverse rim.
A long die scratch? Crack?
On the reverse between OF America, down through the UB of pluribus and almost all of the way to the bottom of the memorial.
A crack by FG at the rim.

On the obverse you have a ridge ring. It's caused by die deterioration. The rim near the initials is a crack. The other is a linear plating bubble.

Plating bubbles can be difficult to identify for the novice. Once I learned how many plating problems occur in zinc Lincolns, they became easier to identify. I still get one wrong now and then.

Time for more coffee.

Boy, they are both so right.
It took me a long time to realize that the dies do actually wear out.
I figured metal dies would last longer than the EverReady Bunny. :laughing7:

(ps. Thanks BC1969 :icon_thumright: for your in depth images and questions. It makes it so much easier to help.)

The planchettes are electroplated with the copper. Any contamination on the planchette will cause it not to adhere correctly. This causes the bubbles.
