1st Target dug for 2021 and in my own yard

Ground is thawing so decided to test out my newer detector out in the back yard and the first target I dug was a ring. I know nothing about jewelry, can anyone tell me if this is an older style of ring, it appears to be gold

That sure looks like an older design. You have a glass? Can you see anything on the inside of the band? There’s generally a mark or stamp of some kind, unless it’s well worn and rubbed smooth. That’s a nice start!

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!! If You don't have a testing kit, most jewelers will do it for free.
