The 1st pic is definitely a modern break. A very sharp edge on 1 side, could shave with it. The next 3 pics are of something I'm not sure if a piece of flint that just coincidently looks interesting or was it destined to be something. Can anyone tell by the closeups if it was worked on or just fluke breaks. The base doesn't seem worked on but what the thing looked like had me pretty excited for a bit. Thanks for looking.

That first pic can get no better. It is as good as it gets!
Please more pics of your find in natural sun light, straight on front and back. It does have an interesting shape.

The material looks like Attica, IN chert. Did you find it in E. Cent. IL.? Post some pics of it laying flat on a table. It looks almost like a paleo point but not sure. Gary

Both pieces found in Lasalle Co, which is north central part of the state. Only rain today, sorry for the no sunlight pics. Both are probably somewhat translucent. Here are a few more angles of the 2nd one. Probably just hoping it's something that it isn't. My rookie, untrained eyes don't see fluting, but the rear end is thin anyhow.

You’ve got something, but I think you’re right that you’re not seeing what it is. That 2nd one looks a whole bunch like the center of an echinoderm fossil, does the depression on the “bottom” have little dents in the arms of that slightly darker star pattern? Cant toss a rock around my neck o’ the woods without it already being one!

Thanks for your comments! I believe it will go in the flake jar.

Lotta rain chances in the forecast. Bad news is we won't be able to go hunting for a while. Good news is maybe it'll wash off a point for us to find.
