This favourite field was the one I took a weeks holiday off to do last year & where I found the Gold Hammered which made the banner. Cru'dad on his own, couldn't wait until this field was ploughed & wandered in the stubble for 2 hours!

He got our Second Roman Silver of the year (bad condition) Antoninus Pius AD163 (maybe?)
A hammered sovereign penny of Henry VII 1485-1504 - York Mint (keys below shield). This is our first sovereign penny & fills a gap in the collection ;D ;D ;D

Plus a silver 3 pence 1874
2 Livery Buttons
blanks

3 Silver of different periods in 2 hours whilst wandering (not griding) :o Lucky or what

Things are improving all we need now is some better roman silver

I can walk to this field in 10-15 minutes but normally cycle in 2-3mins. :)

If they were my field's I would run...30 second's ;D I just looked at your other post and all I can say is Holy S%#T.....The find's are incredible and the soil has to be the most forgiving I have ever seen.Beautiful Job to you and your Dad!!!!

Actually the heavy clay & chemicals the farmers put on the fields are not forgiving at all. (147 roman bronzes this year & only 4-5 album coins) Only the odd item escapes.

Great Finds! :P
