Hunt # 1 - Old tavern site
The trash....
The treasure....
'63 silver dime, 5-wheat cents, & "war nickel" - the nickel had me temporarily freaked out. My gamma sang silver, I dug, I found the nickel, I said to myself...the tone was silver, this is a nickel, what's up? Maybe there is still something in the hole....checked the hole and found nothing else. Tossed the nickel on the ground and passed my coil over it, gamma screamed silver. I thought to myself....great, my detector is going wacky on me. Then the lights came on....it's a war nickel (40percrct silver). Anyhoo, I was very pleased to find the two silver coins. It made the brutal digging (almost painful really, as the gravel is VERY well compacted) all worthwhile, even though the coins are pretty rough condition wise.
Hunt # 2 - local park, soccer field
The trash....
The treasure....
Not much to say about the park hunt other than...a lot of walking, a lot of digging, and a lot of trash. Oh and of course....2 GOLD RINGS. I'm so stoked! This has truly been a blessed year so far for me! I love to treasure hunt, and finding cool stuff is always nice too! Happy hunting to all!
