2 More Coppers, Buttons & A Whats It

Went back to my site where I found my 1663 Spanish Cobb last weekend.

Was able to sniff out 2 more coppers but sadly they're booth smooth as well as some more buttons. One still had some thread still in the shank.

Found this wired thingy. 1st thought it was a small saddle pommel, but now I'm thinking it's a leg to a piece of furniture. What do you guys think.

The weather was real nice. A slight breeze & you can feel fall is in the air (Thank God!). Going down into the 60's tonight, YES!

I like the what's it. You could have found a saddle pommel. I would research how fancy Spanish pommels were attached and you might find an answer.

if it's a saddle pommel it looks like a cool idea. The thing pops up as you pull back on it. maybe a training saddle for kids.

I just searched Spanish saddle horn images and found two with branches at the base with holes for fasteners similar to yours. Your buttons could be conchas from the same artifact.

Nice finds. Looks like that spot still has some 18th century relics and coins left to be found!
