The fragmented looking object has a green patina look now that it has dried. It is slightly bendable. It appears to be "layered". One side is grooved.

Thhe round iron object is heavy.

Any thoughts?

Your first object looks like it could be an old piece of rubber. The second round piece looks like a wheel spindle nut or castle nut of some sort.

Has your iron piece got threads in it? Looks like a type of lock nut that takes a carter pin. :icon_scratch:
Take Care,
